Decluttering is the act of eliminating unnecessary items from our environment and minds. While decluttering most often refers to physical objects such as clothes, books and furniture, we can also ‘declutter our minds’. Mental decluttering refers to the process of eliminating unnecessary or distracting thoughts from our minds (Walsh, 2009). I The goal of physical and mental decluttering is to create more mental and physical space to increase focus, productivity, creativity, and well-being.
